Description
Tilekiln Farmhouse is a house built around 1740, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has a roof covered with red interlocking concrete tiles. The farmhouse features a triple range plan that faces southwest, with internal end stacks in the front range. It has two storeys and a three-window range of 19th-century sashes with sidelights, arranged in a pattern of 4:12:4 lights, except for the central first-floor sash which has 12 lights. All windows have gauged flat arches. The central entrance door is accompanied by a 19th-century trellised porch. The roof is hipped, and the interior boasts extensive original detailing, including a side-purlin roof with face-halved and bladed scarfs in the wallplates.
