Description
The Rookery is a house from the 18th century that has been altered in the 19th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The building has three bays aligned north to south, facing west, and features a rear range extending from the north end, creating an L-shaped plan. There is an external chimney stack at the angle of the L. The rear range, added in the 19th century, includes an external chimney stack at the end and a single-storey extension beyond it, also from the 19th century. The house is two storeys high and has a six-panel door set within a plain Doric porch. There is a four-window range of double-hung sash windows, each with 12 lights. The roof is hipped. Inside, there are six-panel doors and a moulded beam located on the north side of the entrance hall.
