Description

The Three Bottles Public House is a 17th-century building that has been extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with a plastered exterior and a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. The structure consists of three bays oriented east to west, with a central chimney stack that creates a lobby entrance on the north side. There is a two-bay extension to the east, which includes an end chimney stack, dating from the 18th or 19th century. A single-storey extension with a slated lean-to roof is located on the west side, also from the 19th century. Additionally, there are two single-storey extensions at the rear, covered with red clay pantiled roofs, dating from the 20th century. The building has two storeys and attics. A 20th-century door is set within a pantiled gabled porch. On the ground floor, there is one double-hung sash window with 24 lights and another with 16 lights, both from the early 19th century, along with a 20th-century reproduction of the latter. The first floor features two double-hung sash windows with 16 lights, both early 19th century, one 20th-century reproduction of the latter, and one 19th-century horizontal sliding sash window with 24 lights, also early 19th century. Inside, the building has chamfered beams with lamb's tongue stops.
