Description

Oak House, formerly The Oak Inn, is an 18th-century house that was altered in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with roughcast rendering and a roof of handmade red clay tiles. The house has an approximately square plan and faces southwest, featuring one internal chimney stack and one external chimney stack on the northwest wall. The symmetrical elevation has a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, set within a doorcase with attached Corinthian columns and an open pediment. There are two 20th-century tripartite double-hung sash windows per floor, each with 4-12-4 lights. A dentilled cornice runs along the top of the building, and it has a hipped roof.
