Description

Milepost outside Colne Place is an early 19th century cast iron structure. It is shaped like a cube that has been sliced diagonally, tapering towards the ground. The top face features a raised metal inscription that reads "Earls Colne" and "London 51 1/2 miles." The left side displays the distance to "Colchester 10 miles," while the right side indicates "Halstead 4 miles."
