TL 83 SW GESTINGTHORPE THE STREET (EAST SIDE) 2/77 Church of St. Mary the Virgin. Head and foot stones approx. 10 metres eastof east window and south of item 4/78

GV II

Head and foot stones circa 1769. One of a pair (qv. 4/78). The headstone with wave curved top. The central moulded oval frame with mourning woman dressed in widow's weeds leaning on a Roman altar which is surmounted by a two handled urn. Willow tree background. Bay leaf ornamentation drapes the frame. Plain footstone reads H.H. 1769.
