Description

No. 169 Notley Road is a 17th century house that is timber framed and plastered, featuring a red plain tile gambrel roof with small decorative finials at the ridge. The building has two storeys and attics, with a lower two-storey range to the east. It has a two-over-two window arrangement with 18th and 19th century vertical sliding sashes. There is a simple flat canopy supported by brackets above the door. The original central red brick chimney stack has been rebuilt at the top, and there is a red brick chimney stack at the end wall. A lean-to extension on the north side includes 19th century pivot windows and a red plain tile roof.
