4/52 Barn 30 metres north of Cresley's Farmhouse

Wrongly shown on OS map as New House. Barn. Early C17. Timber framed, weatherboarded and plastered, roof thatched. 7 bays aligned NW-SE, with one midstrey with hipped roof to NE, and 2 gabled midstreys to SW. Gabled extension between the SW midstreys. Lean-to extension with red clay pantiled roof in S angle. Jowled posts, primary straight bracing with heavy studding, arched braces to tiebeams (some replaced by bolted knees), face-halved and bladed scarfs in wallplates, clasped purlin roof. The NE midstrey is later than the main structure. This bay has a wooden threshing floor, a rare survival.
