Description

Milestone located on the east verge of the road, next to the garden of numbers 33 and 35. This 18th-century milestone has a diamond shape, with the top of the west face halved to create a panel that is inscribed with "London 46." The lower left and right panels are inscribed with "Braintree" and "Sible Hedingham 2" as well as "Castle Hedingham 2" and "Sible Hedingham." One panel on the rear is blank, while the other is inscribed with "47 to London." This milestone is one of only two remaining on the Gosfield to Castle Hedingham Road.
