House. Early C16, altered in C20. Timber framed, plastered, roof thatched. 2-bay hall facing NW, with early C17 stack in right bay against rear wall, storeyed parlour/solar bay to left, service bay to right, probably unstoreyed originally. 2-bay ancillary building in-line to right, C16, now incorporated with the house. C20 rear extension, single storey with flat roof, forming a T-plan, with smaller extension in left rear angle. One storey with attics. Ground floor, one C19 and 3 C20 casements. First floor, 2 C19 casements in gabled dormers. C20 door. Jowled posts, heavy studding with arched bracing trenched to the inside. The left bay has longitudinal plain joists of horizontal section supported on pegged clamps. The hall has a chamfered axial beam with lamb's tongue stops, and plain joists of vertical section supported on pegged clamps. The right bay has transverse plain joists of horizontal section, supported on pegged clamps. Crownpost roof, formerly with axial braces, all braces removed. Large wood-burning hearth facing to left. The ancillary building has arched braces trenched outside heavy studs, jowled posts, and was originally storeyed in at least one bay, now open. RCHM 63.
