Description

Chase House is an early 19th-century former inn, originally known as The Dog Inn. It is located on the north side of the High Street in Wethersfield. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with a stuccoed front, and has a slate roof. It follows a double-pile plan facing southeast, featuring two stacks on each side. The two-storey facade has a three-window arrangement of early 19th-century sash windows with sixteen lights. The first-floor windows have external louvred shutters. A central six-panel door, with the top four panels glazed, is set within a recessed porch. The roof is hipped with a shallow pitch and projecting eaves.
