9/192 No. 12 (Findings) 2.5.53 (formerly listed as part of Premises 50 yds north of junction of Church Street and Stoneham Street)

GV II

Part of house, now shop. C15, altered in C19 and C20. Timber framed, plastered with some exposed imitation framing, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. One- bay range facing SW, formerly the right bay of a hall house of which no. 14 (Stonehaven) was originally the crosswing (item 9/193, q.v.); a wide vehicle access has been cut through the hall, isolating the 2 parts. One-bay wing to rear, slightly angled to the right. One storey with attics. Ground floor, C20 shopfront and C20 part-glazed door. The upper storey has exposed imitation framing, without a window. Left return and rear fully plastered. The interior is wholly plastered and all beams covered, but an incomplete crownpost roof is visible from the attic of no. 10 (item 9/191, q.v.). RCHM 42.
