Description
This is an early 19th-century house, altered in the 20th century, located on the west side of Stoneham Street in Coggeshall. The house is timber-framed and has plaster rendering, with a slate roof. It consists of a main range facing east and a wing extending to the rear of the left end. The front of the house has two windows on each floor. The windows are 20th-century sashes, with 8 panes at the bottom and 12 panes at the top. A 19th-century front door is set within a simple doorcase and has a small window above it, with a shallow flat canopy and one stone step leading up to it. A plain boarded door with an overlight provides access to a through-passage at the right end. The rear elevation features one early 19th-century sash window on the first floor of the main range, with 16 panes, and one sash window of 3 panes over 6 panes on the rear wing. The building is included on the list for its group value.
