Description
Blue Boar House is a house located on St. James Street in Castle Hedingham. It dates from the early 16th century or possibly earlier, with later alterations and additions. The building features an exposed timber frame with plaster infill and a red plain tiled roof. There is a crosswing to the left and a wing at the rear. The first floor has truncated halved arch braces and the house is two storeys high. The first floor has a window range of one window, while the ground floor has a range of two windows, all of which are vari-light leaded casements. A 20th-century plank and muntin door is accessed by steps leading to the crosswing. This building is part of the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England.
