Description

Hewson's Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 16th century. It is timber framed and plastered, featuring a half hipped red tiled roof with two gabled dormers. The house has an off-centre 16th century red brick chimney stack and a 20th century chimney stack at the rear. It is one storey with attics and has a three-window range of 20th century casements. There is a 20th century red tiled porch with brackets and a 20th century door with a sidelight. The house consists of four bays and has an integral first floor. Notable features include a moulded and carved rear storey post, a framed rear staircase door to the first floor, and halved and bridled wall plate scarfs.
