Description

Lippingwell's Farmhouse is a cottage that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It features a timber frame with plaster and has a red pantiled roof. The building has red brick chimney stacks positioned to the right, left, and center. It consists of a hall with a crosswing on the right and a 20th-century crosswing extension on the left. The farmhouse has one storey and attics, with a central flat-headed dormer. The window arrangement includes three sections of 20th-century casements. There is a 20th-century glazed door to the left and a red pantiled porch to the right, which has a vertically boarded door. Inside, there are large bridging and floor joists. Historical records indicate that the property was owned by the Leffingwell Family of Earls Colne around 1468.
