Description

Oldhouse Farmhouse is a house dating to around 1600, incorporating elements of an earlier 16th-century building. It is timber framed and has been plastered, with a red plain tile roof. The house is one storey high with attics, and has a T-shaped plan. The front has a two-window range of 18th-century vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars. A gabled dormer window is also present. Early 19th-century shutters are a feature, as is a 20th-century porch. A red brick chimney stack is visible. Inside, the original timber framing is exposed, including stop-chamfered main frame timbers and floor joists. Other original features include halved and bladed scarfs to joints and a queen post roof.
