Description

Merryweathers Farmhouse is a house dating to the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The construction is a mix of timber framing and plaster, and rendered brick. The roof is covered in red plain tiles. The house has two storeys and a double range plan, with the original section located at the rear. It has a three-window front with 20th-century casement windows. A central 20th-century door provides access. A lean-to extension is present at the north end. Inside, some of the original timber frame is visible, including late 16th-century windows with ovolo mullions. An inglenook fireplace is present, featuring a timber mantel beam and salt niches. Red brick chimney stacks from the 16th and later centuries are also visible.
