Description

Brookside Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has one storey and attics, featuring a three-bay and chimney bay plan. The front has a range of three small two-light casement windows with glazing bars and three gabled dormers. There is a 20th-century door with a flat canopy in its original position. At the south end, there is a single-storey lean-to extension. A notable feature is the 16th-century red brick chimney stack with attached diagonal shafts.
