Description

The barns located at the rear of number 343 on Cottenham High Street date back to the 17th century. They are timber framed and covered with weatherboarding. One barn features a steeply pitched roof that has been replaced with corrugated iron. This barn consists of four bays and has a single aisle, showcasing original Queen strut roof trusses and bracing to the tie beams. The heads of the principal posts are jowled, with the soffits of the jowls being moulded. The adjoining barn is also likely from the 17th century, timber framed and weatherboarded, with a later rebuilt roof that has two pitches. This barn also has four bays and an aisle.
