Description

College Farmhouse is a late 17th-century cottage that was likely subdivided in the 19th century but is now a single dwelling. The building is timber framed, rendered, and has a thatched roof made of combed wheat reed, featuring a half hip. It includes a red brick ridge stack and consists of three bays with an outshut at the rear. The structure has one storey and an attic, with one full gable dormer and three ground floor late 20th-century casement windows. There are two doorways from the 19th-century subdivision and two modern doors. The framed and rendered outshut is likely slightly younger than the main cottage and is also thatched.

Inside, there is an original staircase located on the north side of the hearth, back-to-back inglenook fireplaces, and ceiling joists that are laid on edge with straight downward wall bracing.
