Description

Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the 18th century and around 1880. It has a timber frame that is covered in red brick, topped with a reed thatched roof and features a ridge stack. The cottage consists of two bays, with a later lean-to outshut added to the southeast side. It is one storey with an attic, featuring two box dormers on the northwest side and two casements in original openings on either side of the baffle entry doorway. Above the ground floor casements, there is a two-course frieze of saw tooth brickwork. A shop was added around 1880. Inside, there is one inglenook hearth and a small parlour hearth that abut each other, with framing made of light scantling.
