Description

The barn at Pound Farmhouse is a structure from the late 17th to 18th century that underwent alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has a half hipped roof covered with corrugated iron. The barn is aisled and consists of five bays, with openings located in the central bays. Inside, the barn retains much of its original framing in the gable ends, and there are straight braces connecting the posts to the tie beams. The wall plate and aisle ties are also original, while the roof dates from the 19th to 20th century. This barn is included for its group value with the surrounding buildings.
