Description

Brock Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage located on Brockley Road in Elsworth. It features a timber frame with plastered and painted brick replacement and has a thatched roof. The building is one storey with an attic and originally had a three-unit plan, which was subdivided into two cottages in the 19th century.

The exterior includes three horizontal sliding sash windows and a closed porch that is weatherboarded and thatched, leading to a panelled door. There is also one horizontal sliding sash dormer window. The cottage has a 17th-century ridge stack positioned to the right of center and a 19th-century stack on the left side.

Inside, the cottage boasts two inglenook hearths and two pine axial beams that are ovolo moulded and chamfered, along with 18th-century and 19th-century doors.
