Description

Hillcroft, located on Brinkley Road, is a cottage that was formerly a public house, dating from the 17th to 18th century. It features a timber frame, rendered exterior, and a pantiled roof with a red brick ridge stack. The building has a three-bay baffle entry, with an additional bay added to the south. It is one storey high with an attic, and includes two dormers with a swept slate roof. On the ground floor, there are two sixteen-pane hung sash windows on either side of the doorway. The south wing is also framed and rendered, with a pantiled roof, and originally extended further to the south. This wing has one hung sash window on the east side and a small leaded light on the west side. The interior showcases exposed framing.
