Description

Hill House, formerly known as the Old Post Office, is a house located on Brinkley Road in Carlton cum Willingham. It was built in the early 19th century and features a brick exterior with a rendered finish and a hipped slate roof supported by two internal stacks. The house has a double pile plan and is double fronted, with a slightly projecting central bay that has a pediment. On either side of the central bay are two recessed twelve-pane hung sash windows, alongside a nine-pane window. The doorway is rounded headed and features an arch with a doorcase that includes pilasters and a Doric frieze with a cornice. The entrance has a panelled door topped by a fanlight with swagged and radial glazing bars.
