Description

The Old Post Office is a cottage dating from around 1800, constructed of flint rubble with brick headers that create a chequerwork pattern, along with flint rubble and clunch featuring brick-dressed gables. The building has a slate roof and stands two storeys tall with three bays. On the ground floor, the eastern side has a tripartite cross window casement, a central sash window in place of a door, and a west shop window with glazing bars, all set under brick skew back arches. The first floor features two three-light casements. The building has brick dressings and quoins, a moulded dentil eaves cornice, and wooden dentil eaves lintels above the windows. There are two stacks at the end gables. Attached to the building are cast iron railings with a central wicket gate. The property is included for its group value.
