Description

The garden ornament in the courtyard of Sawston Hall is a 18th-century celestial globe supported by a figure of Atlas on a plinth with an enriched cornice. The globe is made of bronze and features zodiac inscriptions, while the lead figure, which is after Algardi, is possibly by John Nost. The figure stands on a limestone plinth.
