Description
The statue of Atlas, located approximately 12 meters southwest of the Manor House in Ashby St. Ledgers, is an early 18th-century limestone sculpture. It depicts a crouching figure carrying a globe, representing Atlas. The statue stands on a moulded ironstone plinth and is part of a central figure in a group of statues that includes "The Seasons." These statues are noted to have been part of a formal garden layout from around 1700 at the Manor House.
