Description
The Orchard is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a tile roof and brick stacks. It is two storeys high and features three bays. The entrance, located in the second bay from the right, has a four-centred moulded-stone arch and a six-panel part-glazed door. There are two-light casement windows with stop-chamfered wood lintels on either side of the entrance, and a three-light casement window with a wood lintel in the left bay, with similar windows on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected. There is an extension to the right, likely from the 18th century, which is also made of coursed squared ironstone, has a tile roof, and is one storey high with one bay. This extension features a gabled dormer with a three-light casement. An attached wall on the right side curves back along Watford Road and dates from the 18th to 19th century, made of coursed squared ironstone with tile coping.
