Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed with a timber frame and plaster, featuring a red brick end wall on the southeast side. The cottage has a half hipped thatched roof with a ridge stack located to the right of the center. It is one storey high with an attic and has a three-unit plan. The main entrance, located to the left of the stack, has been sealed. There are four ground floor 20th-century casement windows that have replaced the original horizontal sliding sash windows, along with one eyebrow dormer window and a 20th-century glazed door to the right. Inside, the cottage features stop-chamfered ceiling beams and rafters laid flat.
