Description

The barn at Rookery Farmhouse dates from the 17th century. It is timber framed and covered with weatherboarding, topped by a half hipped thatched roof made of long straw. The structure consists of six bays and has an aisle. Inside, while there are some new rafters, all the main trusses remain intact. The bracing between the arcade posts and tie beams is generally shallow, and there is no evidence of passing braces.
