Description
Kettles Cottage is a cottage, likely dating from the early 17th century. It has a timber frame and is rendered on a rebuilt brick plinth, topped with a thatched roof made of long straw and a rebuilt ridge stack. The cottage features a three-bay, lobby entry plan with its gable end facing the road. It has one storey and an attic, with the attic jettied out over the road. On the east side, there is one dormer and four small windows, all of which are 20th-century replacements. The doorway is located opposite the stack. The gable end has a 19th-century horizontal sliding sash window in the attic, and there is a storey above the jetty. Some repairs have been made to the framing in the gable end wall, and a new window has been inserted.
