Description

The School House is a cottage dating from 1640, constructed with a timber frame and plaster render. It features a steeply pitched roof made of long straw, which is hipped to the left. The original ridge stack is made of grey gault brick and has grouped shafts set diagonally. The building has a plan consisting of three bays and a lobby entry, and it is one storey high with an attic. There is one gable dormer and three windows, all from the 20th century, although two may be located where the original openings once were. The doorway is situated opposite the stack. Inside, there is a brick in the chimney engraved with the date 1640.
