Description

The barn at Number 68, located on the south side of Orwell High Street, is a Grade II listed structure. It has been restored, with part of it converted into a house. The barn features a scratching that dates to 1747 and includes the initials VCM. Additionally, the west wall has the date 1828 inscribed, which may indicate a rebuilding or an addition. The exterior is made of coursed clunch on a brick plinth and is tarred. Originally thatched, the roof is now covered with pantiles. The barn consists of nine bays, including two at the south end that have been converted for residential use. It has an aisle on the east side. Inside, the barn showcases braced tie beams and Queen strut roof trusses.
