Description
The barn at Number 36 is a Grade II listed building dating from the late 17th century, with a recasing from 1751 and an extension added in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame and brick construction topped with a pantile roof, arranged in a single range with three unequal bays.
On the east side, there is a mid-20th century lean-to pigsty on the left. To its right, a buttress is flanked by single casements, and above it is a stone inscribed 'J.C. 1751'. Further right, there is another buttress and an altered barn door, followed by two diamond breathers and two additional casements. Above these, on the left, are four cross-shaped breathers. The north gable has three cross-shaped breathers and a casement above. The west side features several blocked openings.
Inside, the barn has five bay posts with struts supporting the tie beams, and a principal rafter roof with butt purlins and collars. To the north, there is a brick partition wall and a loft dating from the mid-18th century.
