Description

Quinneys is a cottage orne built around 1840. It features a timber frame, rendered exterior, and a steeply pitched tiled roof with a grey brick ridge stack that has two flues linked at the capping. The building is one storey with an attic and has its gable end facing the road. The west elevation includes two gable dormers with horizontal sliding sash windows set in pointed arches. There are two similar windows on either side of a contemporary gabled porch, which has a chamfered four-centred outer archway. The gable end facing the road has a chamfered mullion and surround for a first-floor window, which is now blocked, and a ground floor casement. Inside, the cottage features exposed framing, straight bracing, abutting hearths, and light ceiling framing. It was probably built by the Bendyshe family.
