Description

Lilac Farm is a cottage dating from the mid to late 17th century. It features a timber frame with plaster rendering and a thatched, half-hipped roof. There is a repaired red brick stack with a string course. The building has a two-bay, lobby entry plan and a later outshut at the rear. It stands two storeys tall and has two 19th-century horizontal sliding sash windows with small panes on the first floor, along with two 20th-century casements on either side of the doorway. Inside, the inglenooks are sealed, but the substantial stop-chamfered joists are exposed and laid flat. The original staircase is located in the lobby, next to the stack.
