Description

No. 41 Denmark Road is a cottage, likely built in the late 17th century, but it has undergone significant alterations in the 20th century. The structure is timber framed and rendered, resting on a plinth made of soft red brick. The roof is now covered with asbestos, hipped on the right side and half hipped on the left. The original ridge stack has had its upper courses removed. The cottage is a single range with an original lobby entry plan, although the entry is now located at the rear. It has two storeys and features three hung sash windows. The original doorway has been sealed. Inside, the timber framing is hidden, but the original rafters remain, along with stop-chamfered main beams and blocked inglenooks.
