Description

The Linton War Memorial is a First World War memorial built in 1921. It is made of granite with lead lettering and is located within Linton Cemetery. The memorial features a square base with two steps that support an obelisk. The obelisk is inscribed with lead lettering that reads: TO THE / GLORY OF GOD / AND IN / GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE / OF THE MEN OF / LINTON / WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE / GREAT WAR 1914-1918. It lists the names of 46 men who served, and below this, it also includes the inscription: AND IN THE / WORLD WAR / 1939-1945, which records 13 additional names.
