Description
Eastings is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of gault brick and has a plain tile roof. The building stands two storeys high, with attics and cellars, and features a stair turret at the rear. The main entrance is located to the left of the centre and consists of a six-panelled door set within a wooden doorcase that has fluted pilasters and an open pediment, all placed in a segmental arched shallow recess.
On the ground floor, there are three near-flush-framed twelve-paned hung sash windows, each set in cambered brick arches, and the first floor has three similar windows. The house has an end stack on the right side and a shared stack with No. 97 on the left. There are two flanking piers, one of which has a ball finial. Inside, the details are primarily from the 19th century, but there are some 18th-century doors and exposed chamfered beams. In 1840, John Hales, a builder and carpenter, owned both No. 97 and No. 99.
