Description
The Millicent House is a house that was rebuilt in the 17th century from an earlier structure, possibly from the 16th century, with extensions added in the 18th century. It features a timber-framed construction with rough cast render and a 20th-century brick plinth. The roof is half hipped and covered with plain tiles, having a ridge stack positioned to the right of the center and a rear stack on the left side. The house has two storeys, attics, and a service basement, arranged in a three-unit plan. The entrance includes a 20th-century boarded door set within a late 18th-century enriched door frame. Inside, there are stop-chamfered ceiling beams and exposed timber framing. The main rooms have red brick hearths, while the parlour hearth on the south side was originally grouted in plaster and painted red. An unusual feature for a 17th-century house is the cooking hearth located in the cellar.
