Milestone, about 400 yds N. 22/174 of crossroads (formerly 31.8.62 listed as milestone on the Cambridge Road B1368 about 400 yds N. of the crossroads II

Milestone. 1730. Stone painted white. Square with domed top and black Roman lettering and numerals. Shield of arms of Trinity Hall College, Cambridge, above inscription - "VI MILES TO CAMBRIDGE A.D. MDCCXXX" and a hand, with a pointing finger. One of the milestones set up under the Trust founded to administer a bequest from Dr Mowse, Master of Trinity Hall, Cambridge, 1552-3, for the upkeep of the highways in and about Cambridge.
