Description
1 Free Church Passage is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall with attics. It features a plastered brick exterior, a band between the storeys, and a tiled roof. The front has five windows with wooden casements that include glazing bars, and there are two hipped dormers with moulded cornices. The doorway is topped with a board hood supported by shaped brackets. There is a modern window on the left and a modern shop front on the right. A rectangular central chimney stack is present. At the south end, there is a two-storey extension that is timber-framed, plaster-faced, and has a tiled mansard roof. This building, along with the Free Church, Market Hill, and Nos. 4 to 6 (consecutive) forms a group of structures of architectural significance.
