Description
Old Castle Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of squared limestone rubble with freestone dressings, featuring rubble limestone end stacks and a ridge stack located to the right of the center. The building has coped parapet gables and stands two storeys tall with attics, along with a one-storey and attic service range to the south.
On the west elevation, there is a 19th-century four-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight that has patterned glazing bars, flanked by two ground floor casement windows with wooden lintels. Above, there are four first floor casement windows that match those below. To the right, there is a 19th-century bay window with two casement windows in the service range. The roof features five hipped dormer windows with leaded lights, and there is a boot scraper located beside the main entrance.
