Description

SIBSON-CUM-STIBBINGTON STIBBINGTON TL 0898 CHURCH LANE (North Side)

11/113 Gateway and Boundary 13.12.57 wall to forecourt of Stibbington Hall GV I Gateway and boundary wall. Circa 1625. Ketton limestone and limestone rubble. Arched opening with semi-circular head and keystone with jewel ornament moulded imposts, sunk spandrels and stop-chamfered responds flanked by Doric pilasters on pedistal, similar to entrance porch of Stibbington Hall with a moulded cornice surmounted by an open ogee-shaped gable enclosing a pierced stone circle with flanking finials and apex finial.
