Description

Bana Bhaile is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with possible earlier origins, located on the north side of Moat Lane in Abbots Ripton. The building has been renovated and features a timber frame that is rendered on a rebuilt brick plinth. It has a half hipped roof covered with long straw thatch. The ridge stack is made of 19th-century gault brick, and there is an end stack of similar date. The cottage is one storey with an attic, and it has a modern boxed dormer on the front. There are two modern casement windows with small panes on either side of the doorway at ground level. The interior has not been seen. The cottage is included for its group value.
