Description

Meadowsweet Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame and has plastered and painted brick. The building is one storey high with attics and features a gabled thatched roof. The front of the cottage includes a 20th-century off-centre enclosed porch that has a gabled pantile roof and imitation framing. The windows are 19th-century casements with small panes, and there is one eyebrow dormer located on the rear slope. At the back, there is a continuous lean-to with a pantile roof, along with one off-centre thin ridgeline stack and a gable stack at the south end. An inserted floor beam, which is tusk tenoned externally, is visible on the front elevation. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace situated beneath the ridgeline stack.
