Description

White Cottage is a 17th and 18th century cottage located on the west side of High Street, Abbots Ripton. It is a single-range building with a three-bay plan, timber framing now rendered with plaster, and a thatched roof featuring a gault brick ridge stack. The cottage is one storey high with an attic, and has two dormers. The front has three modern casement windows and a doorway opposite the stack. Inside, there are later inglenooks with slender bressumers. The timber frame has jowled heads and heavy ceiling beams; a beam in the parlour has ogee stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
