Description

No. 38 on High Street is a late 17th century cottage that was originally built with three bays but now has two. The cottage features a timber frame that is roughcast rendered, topped with a thatched, half-hipped roof constructed with side purlins. It has an original red brick chimney stack that includes a string course. The building has one storey and attics, with a shared dormer containing two horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars. There are two similar windows on the ground floor, with the right-hand window sharing an architrave with the doorway. Inside, there is a sealed inglenook and details from the 19th century.
